Amusement park

Did you know that Dreamland is the UK’s oldest amusement park? Like a phoenix from the flames, it came screaming back to life (albeit at a vintage pace) in 2015, and then again in 2017 after another multi-million pound makeover. Free to enter, you do need to buy a wristband or tokens to take a turn on the rides. The star of the show is the Grade-II-listed Scenic Railway, a bona fide bone-shaker, but there’s also a Big Wheel, dodgems, Chair-o-Plane and roller disco. It’s also an excellent music venue with an increasingly impressive calendar of gigs and day-long festivals.
